This visa also allows its holder to stay in the United States for 90 days but she and her American fiancé must get married within the same time period otherwise she has to leave the country on or before the 90th day. However, if the American sponsor and the fiancé(e) do get married within three months, she can then apply for an adjustment of status to extend her stay.

Sponsors and applicants may find different suggestions or information with regards to K-1 Visa. Depending on which immigration specialist they would approach, the same or much more distinct guides may be employed.

The following questions that could possibly be included in the set during the interview by the immigration personnel at the U.S. embassy:

How long do you know your fiancé?

When did you meet in person?

When is your fiancé’s birthday?

Does your fiancée have a brother or a sister?

Where was your fiancé born?

Where does your fiancé’s parents live?

What does your fiancé do for a living?

What do you love about your fiancé?

Where are you getting married?

Where did you get engaged?

United States immigration officers may ask several questions during interview. They are doing this probably to find concrete evidence that the applicant and the sponsor are genuinely involved with each other in a romantic relationship.

If there would be an instance in which the applicant may not be able to provide an extensive answer to a particular question, it would be better if she would stick to what she know and make sure that she would not invent answers just to provide a response.

Apart from familiarizing with the set of questions, the applicant should also make sure that the documents she has are in order. She must also be familiar with the contents of those documents as there could be a chance that the questions to be asked are based on the submitted documents.

The K-1 Visa allows a non-United States citizen fiancé(e) of an American to travel to the country and get married there.
